Police: 86-year-old driver hit wrong pedal, struck 2 people at Rochester Costco

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — Police say a driver hit the wrong pedal causing an accident outside the Rochester Costco where two pedestrians were hit.

Officers were called to the Costco off Westfall Road around 1 p.m. for the crash.

Police say an 86-year-old driver was trying to hit the brake while pulling into a parking spot near the front door, but instead hit the accelerator, and drove into the two people. The victims suffered injuries but are expected to survive.

No tickets have been issued at this time for the crash.
