PlayROCs Your Neighborhood hosts pop-up play spaces

Local News

‘PlayROCs Your Neighborhood 2017’ is a community-driven day of pop-up play spaces across Rochester with 20 participating locations.

With each event managed by volunteer members from each neighborhood, PlayROCs  provides convenient and fun places to play while also raising awareness for the importance of safe and accessible play spaces for every child in every neighborhood.

The 20 locations across Rochester included:
Beechwood – Grand Avenue Park (Grand Ave and Stout St)
Best Buddies Rochester – Ellwanger and Barry Park (890 Meigs St)
Lyell Otis Neighborhood Association & Lyell Branch Library (956 Lyell Ave)
NEAD Freedom School – Peck Park (145 4th St)
Access to safe places to play continues to be a quality of life issue, and the PlayROCs Your Neighborhood events reclaim, repurpose and revitalize neighborhood space to overcome existing barriers to play. The event started with 12 locations in 2016 and has grown organically to 20 participating locations this year.
