The city of Rochester’s Pathways to Peace team was handing out free hot meals to the homeless and local families at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Iceland Park on Thursday.
Some hats, gloves, and toys were handed out as well. This was all to make sure people have a nice warm meal – and a nice holiday too.
“As soon we pulled up, they wondered why we were here. We told them what we were doing, they then went and told other people,” said Ray Mayoliz of Pathways to Peace. “Lots of people are coming now to grab chili and gloves and the information continues to spread.”
The event started at 3 p.m., and goes until the food runs out.
