Parents shocked over accusations of child porn against their family doctor

Local News

Tammy Garrow took her children to Dr. Blasczak, the well-known family medicine doctor in town, whose office just so happened to be right across the street from her house. Her son, Marcus, never liked the doctor, he said.

“He would stare at you and I told her after my appointment, there’s something weird about him,” said Marcus.

Garrow thought nothing of it initially however, telling her son, “I always thought he’s been in this business for a long time, he has to know what he’s doing and that was my fight with my kids, even though Marcus didn’t like him, I was like he has to know what he’s doing.”

That was until today, when Blasczak was charged with possession of child pornography, and more specifically of taking nude photos of his young patients. Marcus says he always felt something was off, even though he was never asked by Blasczak to take nude photos.

“I didn’t like the way he was touching me in the physicals, and I told my mom it was weird and didn’t go back after that though,” said Marcus.

As a parent, Garrow says her trust in others has been shaken, even those whose job it is to ‘first do no harm.’

“You think you can take your child to the doctor and think they’re getting a checkup, I put my children in his care and find out it’s a doctor with these accusations, it’s sick,” said Garrow.
