More than seventeen people from Western New York were indicted in connection with an international trafficking ring.

Investigators say the drugs involved include cocaine, heroin and fentanyl.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, the suspects used sea-cucumbers to smuggle the drugs, and they had several businesses in the Buffalo area that were fronts.

Investigators say one of the suspects, Herman Aguirre, has ties to Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, the Mexican drug lord.
