‘Operation Clear Track’ kicks off Tuesday

Local News

Starting Tuesday, New York State Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office are teaming up with Amtrak to raise awareness about railroad safety.

It’s called “Operation Clear Track” and it’s part of a nationwide program. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies will be posted at crossings on Chili Avenue and South Winton Road to make sure people don’t cross the tracks when the gates are down.

“Operation Clear Track” is the largest daily railroad safety initiative in the country.
