Ontario County Sheriff searching for missing father and son

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has issued a missing persons alert for a missing father and son.

A New York State Missing Child Alert has also been issued. The alert lists Glenn as Leroy’s 18-month-old son.

Deputies say 36-year-old LeRoy Newswanger was last seen at Lyons National Bank in Penn Yan where he was withdrawing $300. However, the New York State Missing Child Alert says 18-month-old Leroy Newswanger was last seen on State 245 in the hamlet of Stanley. 

Leroy is described as 5’11”, 180 lbs with brown eyes and black hair. Deputies say he was wearing a maroon button up shirt.

The Missing Child Alert says Glenn was last seen wearing tan khaki pants, black sneakers, a plaid shirt, and a navy winter coat. He is 2 feet tall and weighs 25 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

According to deputies, the child has hand, foot and mouth disease and has blisters around his mouth. Deputies say Leroy Newswanger has an extensive mental health history.

They say he is driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado that is dark blue. The cap is the same color as the truck and there is a dent in the right front passenger door as well as the rear bumper.
