One firefighter hospitalized after Pardee Street fire

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester Firefighter was injured after falling from a ladder on Sunday.

Firefighters were called to a home on Pardee Street around 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters said the firefighter fell while trying to enter the home on the second floor.

The only person home at the time of the fire was the homeowner and he got out safely.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.

The firefighter never lost consciousness but was injured and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
