The New York State Ballet will present Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, at the Kodak Center for Performing Arts.
Founder and Artistic Director Katie Johnson and performer Monica Starr, who plays Titania the Queen of the Fairies, discussed the production Tuesday on News 8 at Noon.
Saturday, April 23 will mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. The ballet is an homage to his literary brilliance and a collaboration of local groups. The RIT Orchestra and the Amadeus Youth Chorale will interpret Mendelsshon’s lyrical verse as part of the production.
Johnson said “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a comedy that will appeal to the whole family. Performances are as follows:
Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m.
Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m.
