Business inside Danwins pharmacy in Webster is well, busy.

Owner Dan Safee said it’s safe to say it’s been the flu bringing in the most customers over the past few months.

“Between December and January, we’ve seen a 320 percent increase in Tamiflu prescriptions. We’ve also seen a 220 percent increase in patients coming in to get vaccinated for the flu,” Safee said.

Infectious disease doctor MaryRose Laguio-vila at Rochester General Hospital said they’re seeing more patients this year than last year.

“For this flu season, we have admitted 250 patients. For all of flu season last year, we had already admitted 238.”

She said it isn’t just targeting one group of people, either.

“We’ve been seeing people of a variety of ages; 20’s, 30’s and very old who come in with very severe influenza.”
