A Rochester icon soon will celebrate 100 years in business – Nick Tahou’s, the home of the Garbage Plate.

They began serving food back in 1918.

Of course, the garbage plate has become a Rochester staple, with many other area restaurants creating their own spin-off version.

But it’s not just a favorite of college kids and late-night revelers – Tahou’s once made 60 plates for Cher and her entourage when she performed in Rochester.
