After months of preparation, design, construction, rehearsals, discussions and more, Rochester’s original TV station NEWS 8 WROC is rolling out a new look and feel beginning with the 4pm news on Wednesday, October 25.
Also accompanying the set and new graphic look are a new weather graphics system, new music as well as a jingle composed by Rochester’s own Jay Advertising, and a further clarification of NEWS 8’s long-running brand “The Team You Can Trust.”
“We continue to be The Team You Can Trust — a team relentlessly dedicated to our local Rochester community. Now, we have a new state-of-the-art operation that expands our ability to deliver best in class local news and local weather,” said Wendy Bello, WROC Vice President and General Manager. “Because we are Rochester’s only hometown team, every night we have that special connection to our viewers and that gives us a great sense of pride. Through our reporting of local news, community events and meaningful interviews, we will continue to feature local people at every turn, especially those trying to make Rochester a better place to live.”
Regarding the epic project, News Director Jim Tortora added, “Our team has worked incredibly hard over the past several weeks to put together a clean and sharp network-level product and we’re so excited to finally be able to show it off.”
The NEWS 8 Weather Department also now offers a unique service – Rochester’s only 8-day forecast. This, with their brand new Weather Center and graphic look will mean an even more dynamic weather presentation from Chief Meteorologist Stacey Pensgen, and meteorologists Josh Nichols and James Gilbert.
