With some pretty unpleasant winter weather expected in coming days, it’s fitting that this week marks 42 years since the blizzard of ’77.
That snow storm dropped 100 inches of snow on some areas in western New York over the course of four days. Making the snowy conditions even worse, the winds were whipping as well with some gusts hitting more than 60 miles per hour. Twenty-three people were killed in our area.
Some snow drifts reached 40 feet high!
