Neighbor calls for change after girl hurt in Webster crash

Local News

A child was hospitalized after a crash Friday morning in Webster.

It happened around noon at the intersection of Schlegel and Webster roads. Police say a SUV going west on Schlegel ran a stop sign and was T-boned by another SUV on Webster Road. We spoke with someone who lives near the intersection who says it’s prone to crashes.

“There was one on the 12th that had two cars involved,” said Holli Hollandsworth, who lives nearby. “A single driver was in each car. But it’s a reoccurring problem at this intersection.”

She adds, “There’s a tree that might be obstructing the view of people on Schlegel Road where they can’t see cars coming from their left.”

She says a traffic light is needed. A seven-year-old girl was the only person hospitalized. She suffered head and neck pain and is expected to be okay.
