Approximately 30 people are now officially U.S. citizens following a naturalization ceremony at the Laurelton Pardee School in Rochester.
It was a patriotic celebration for those becoming full-fledged Americans.
“It feels incredible,” said Robin Mitchell, a new U.S. citizen. “It’s been a long journey. I came here in 2001 to coach soccer. Now I’ve got a family and everything. It’s been an amazing day.”
Family, friends, and even students at the school came out to cheer the new U.S. citizens on.
Also in attendance were Monroe County Clerk Adam Bello, East Irondequoit Central School District Superintendent Susan Allen, and NYS Supreme Court Justice Richard Dollinger.
