This Saturday will mark the 13th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, held by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The public is encouraged to dispose of unused, unwanted medications at one of the collection sites, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The service is free of charge, with no questions asked.
Last October, Americans turned in over 730,000 pounds of prescription drugs at sites operated by the DEA and more than 4,000 of its state and local law enforcement partners. Overall, in its 12 previous Take Back events, the DEA and its partners have taken in over 7.1 million pounds of pills.
