NASA invited a Canandaigua man to take a behind-the-scenes look at the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket launch.

Tory Carissimo is the flight director of Overlook Horizon High Altitude Balloons.

The non-profit organization specializes in sending weather balloons into space to collect data.

Carissimo said the invitation is part of NASA’s goal to spread awareness about their scientific programs and get the public excited about science.

The SpaceX launch is due to leave the space station on June 3.
