Motorcyclist involved in Park Avenue accident identified

UPDATE (May 1):

Rochester Police have identified the motorcyclist involved in Friday night’s accident on Park Avenue as 24-year-old Michael Papazissimos, of Greece.

The investigation is still ongoing.

UPDATE (April 29):

According to the Rochester Police Department, the victim is in critical but stable condition.

ORIGINAL (April 28):

There is a heavy police presence on Park Avenue Friday night around 9:30 p.m. for an accident involving a motorcycle. 

Police say a motorcycle struck the rear end of a truck on Park Avenue outside of the CVS near Berkeley Street. The 24-year-old male driver, of Greece, was ejected off the motorcycle. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by American Medical Response, with serious injuries. 

Police say there were two people inside the truck that was struck. The driver was a 26-year-old male, of Greece. Both people were uninjured. 

Police have closed off Park Avenue between Berkeley Street and Argyle Street. The road will remain closed until police receive a status update on the driver. 

There are no charges at this time.
