There was something for everyone on Sunday at Mendon Ponds Park!

Monroe County’s 22nd annual Winterfest was hosted at Mendon Ponds Park on Sunday.

The event was free and open to the public.

Jointly sponsored and coordinated by Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and the Monroe County Department of Parks, Winterfest has a rich history of being a great outdoor event for all audiences.

Numerous community organizations and winter themed demonstrations were planned throughout the Park both outside and inside the Park’s heated lodges.

Winterfest featured a variety of seasonal participatory activities, including sledding, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing, as well as demonstrations by local organizations and clubs.  Popular spectator competitions include both sled dog and snowshoe races.  There were also crafts, face painting, chain saw carving demonstrations, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol.
