The first Mobility Summit was held at the Inn on Broadway Thursday morning in downtown Rochester.
The purpose of the meeting was to focus on new transportation solutions for people across the region.
We’re told it’s more than just moving from Point A to Point B because not everyone in smaller cities, like Rochester, and rural areas, have access to a car. The summit consisted of brainstorming present and futuristic transportation modes from bike-sharing to volunteer driver programs.
“How do we take all that technology, harvest the market and fill the transportation gaps we may not see in bigger cities but are a problem in smaller cities and rural communities,” explains Rachel Heckl, Shared Mobility Inc. “Folks at this conference are solving those problems.”
Mayor Lovely Warren was also at the event, saying she’s proud Rochester is at the forefront of transportation innovation.
