According to Oregon State Police, Bailey and a male adult companion had run out of gas and called the New York State Police to turn themselves in. They were located at a rest area along I-84 in rural eastern Oregon.
The New York State Police contacted OSP with their location. Bailey has been transported to a Juvenile facility until such time as arrangements can be made to get her home.
The Oregon State Police is working closely with New York State Police, who is leading the investigation.
A teen reported missing on Monday in Canandaigua has been found safe in Oregon, troopers say.
Troopers and state probation are now working with Oregon authorities to get 16-year-old Bailey Vanderwall back home.
Authorities did not disclose how Vanderwall ended up in Oregon. A missing person alert was issued Wednesday for Vanderwall.
Deputies said she never got on a bus for school Monday morning.
