MCC students make it home after delay on Amtrak

Local News

With the snow storm hitting Tuesday and Wednesday, thousands of flights have been canceled throughout the Northeast, but the trains weren’t moving either.

News 8 was there Wednesday evening when some MCC students finally arrived home via Amtrak. The students work for the school newspaper, and were in New York City for a media conference.

They were supposed to come back Tuesday, but Amtrak kept canceling trains, after the big apple went into a State of Emergency.

“Amtrak canceled three of our trains on us or two of our trains on us and we finally made it out today,” said Lori Moses, Adviser, MCC Newspaper. “So we’re calling this ‘escape from New York.”
Amtrak says it will resume normal service Thursday for routes between Boston and Washington D.C., except its Empire Service, which will remain on a modified schedule.
