The new Office of Community Wealth Building aims to helps middle class residents accrue cash.
Mayor Lovely Warren announced the new office on Thursday.
In a statement, Mayor Warren wrote, “Too many of our citizens are missing out on Rochester’s economic recovery. The Office of Community Wealth Building will give us another opportunity to invest in our people so we can achieve genuine equality through economic equality. By working closely with our partners across the city, this Office will bolster our efforts to create more jobs, safer/more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”
The office will partner with the mayor’s Office of Innovation and Strategic Initiatives to help city residents build wealth. Brittaney Wells, the mayor’s campaign manager and staff member, will head the office.
