Results were released on Friday on community engagement and reorganization within the Rochester Police Department.
It was announced in September that the City of Rochester was going to do a “90 days of community engagement” initiative.
The community was given the opportunity to engage the Police Department and offer suggestions and concerns.
The City found that, though the Rochester Police Department does a lot in the community, the community was not aware.
“There was a disconnect,” said Mayor Warren. “Our police department is doing a lot in our community with our young people and inviting them, but the community didn’t know about that.”
The 90 day report produced a set of action items that will help the RPD and the community develop a better understanding of each other.
