A firefighter fell through the floor while responding to a house fire in Rochester on Seward Street on Sunday.
Rochester firefighters received the call of a house fire shortly before 2 a.m.
Upon arrival firefighters saw smoke coming from a 2.5 story house.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the rear portion of the house.
Shortly after that a mayday was declared when a firefighter was briefly trapped after falling through the floor.
A Rapid Intervention Crew was deployed but the firefighter was quickly extricated by another fire crew working in the area.
AMR transported the firefighter to Highland Hospital for a leg injury. The firefighter was released but remains off duty until seen by the RFD medical contractor.
