Man who tried to burn down the Masonic Temple in court today

A Pittsford man who once threatened to kill the President is due in court Thursday.
This in connection with a 2015 crime spree.
46-year-old Benjamin Smith faces a list of charges, including arson.
Back in October of 2015 Deputies tell us they found an open gas can and a number of broken bottles at the front door of the Masonic Temple on Church Street in Pittsford.
We’re told Smith admitted to trying to set the fire that caused little damage.
Smith is also facing criminal mischief charges for incidents that happened at a nearby Starbucks.
Smith made headlines in 2014 when he was arrested in Manhattan for threatening to kill former President George W. Bush.
