One person was injured after a four-apartment house fire on Thursday morning. The fire broke out on the 800 block of North Street in Rochester shortly after 4 a.m.
A son smelled smoke and notified his parents, who then notified fellow occupants.
According to firefighters the fire started in the basement and caused some minor extension to the first floor.
Rochester firefighters said one man jumped out of an upstairs window to escape the flames and injured his leg.
Firefighters said the structure had working smoke detectors.
No one else was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
