Some furry friends found new homes on Saturday thanks to the hard work and kindness of one local organization.
Our nation is full of cats and dogs without homes, but Operation Freedom Ride, a local rescue organization, is helping make a difference. On Sunday the group accepted their largest transport of strays ever from the south.
The rescue took in 40 dogs and nine kittens, with foster families standing by to help out.
The owners said most of the pets they save are from the southern U.S. where backyard breeding is a huge problem.
