Local lawmakers push Governor Cuomo for more funding for RTS

Local News

Local lawmakers and community leaders gathered to try to get more funding to help grow RTS.

They’re asking Governor Cuomo to revisit his state budget to give more money so that RTS can offer more and better services to their customers.

The officials spoke about how there’s a lot of different programs, like ride sharing and even bike sharing, that RTS needs to start working in conjunction with to help deliver their passengers to where they want to go.

Cuomo has approved some $500 million for capital improvements for upstate transportation, though no word on exactly how much more the lawmakers are seeking.

Ridesharing programs in Upstate New York still has not passed, though it’s a major agenda Cuomo wants done this year.
