Local Cheesecake Factory manager fired after dressing in blackface

Local News

According to the Washington Post, a manager at the Cheesecake Factory location in Pittsford has been fired after he wore blackface to a company Halloween party.

News 8 acquired a photograph of the incident this week. We were told that a manager at the location, Andrei Shorikov, dressed as Colin Kaepernick in blackface at a company party.

When a call was made to the local branch, we were told that they could neither confirm or deny what had happened and that it was being looked into by their Human Resources Department.

The incident was made public when it was reported by a longtime Cheesecake Factory employee named Antonea Stevens, to the blog Love Life of an Asian Guy. The blog post calls out the Cheesecake Factory, saying that if action was not taken by the company, they would boycott.

The hashtag #AndreiShorikov made it’s way through social media on a national level.

In a tweet, the Cheesecake Factory responded to Love Life of an Asian Guy, saying “the person involved in this incident is no longer employed by our company. This behavior is inappropriate, and against our values.”
