Dry grass and wilting plants.

Laurie Broccolo, the owner of Broccolo Tree and Lawn Care says keeping everything green and healthy is particularly hard right now.

But over the last few weeks, that has not been her top concern.

“The drought is impacting my employees the worst,” said Broccolo. “It is absolutely really difficult to maintain a good production level and we’re very concerned about making sure everybody stays hydrated. That has been the biggest issue. On top of the fact that plants, especially the garden center, it’s really difficult to keep up with the watering.”

Broccolo says many people are holding off buying plants, and are hoping for more temperate weather in the fall.
