The Rochester Contemporary art center held its opening launch party Saturday night for its annual 6X6 art exhibit and fundraiser.
The exhibit displays more than 6,700 works of art that measure just 6 by 6 inches.
The pieces come from all over the world–with 49 countries being represented all in one place. The event has hundreds of people vying for their favorite picks.
“6X6 is an international phenomenon of thousands of artworks that were donated to us by famous artists, celebrities, children, etc.,” says Gallery Associate Claudia Pretelin. “Artworks are for sale for $20 each and benefit the art center. They’re anonymous until purchase and upon purchase a buyer receives a receipt with the information about who made their artworks.”
News 8’s Mark Gruba was the emcee for Saturday’s event.
The sale of the pieces runs through July 15th. For additional info click here.
