Folks we’re grabbing their Abbotts Ice Cream and hitting the waters one last time at Ontario Beach Park.
Labor Day is the last day of the year that the waters are open.
This was the first holiday weekend of the summer that people could actually enjoy the waters.
And just down the road on Edgemere drive two local teachers are taking full advantage of their last day of summer.
“It’s lovely though it’s taken us all summer to get a great day like today,” said Colleen Hall.
Christina Galambos and her sister Colleen Hall say this is their first time being able to pull the lawn chairs out and sit on the beach.
Their back yard had been completely submerged for most of the summer.
“The water came almost all the way up to the deck and you couldn’t go in it because it was gross and it was dirty and full of the debris,” said Galambos.
Even Galambos’s kids say this is exactly what they needed before starting the school year out.
Hall says she just wished this could have happened months ago.
