More kids in Canandaigua are ditching their training wheels this weekend.
Saturday morning, the Autism Center at Ontario and Victor Parks and Recreation teamed up to host “Free Wheel’n.” The free event teaches children with Autism how to ride their bike without training wheels in a judgment free zone.
“They’re a little embarrassed and they don’t want to do it,” said Diane Vanderwater from Ontario ARC. “So, this really provides an opportunity for the kids to not feel judges and feel safe and be supported.”
This was the third “Free Wheel’n” event and more riders participated than in previous years.
