The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man wanted for kidnapping and assault.
Cedrick Lamont Mitchell, 44, was a passenger in a taxi cab when he was captured in the area of Route 390 in Rush.
According to authorities, Mitchell recently came to the Rochester area from Sarasota, Florida.
Mitchell was wanted for first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
In the felony complaint obtained by News 8, Mitchell is accused of holding her against her will in multiple hotels for eight days, starting March 29.
Mitchell and the woman have at least one child together. The felony complaint states that the victim asked to be released, but Mitchell refused.
She was able to escape on April 6 by jumping out of the car and running to a business for help on West Main Street.
Mitchell pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Henrietta Town Court Monday afternoon. No bail was set.
