Key Bank is donating $105,000 to the Rochester City School District’s Office of Adult and Career Education Services (OACES).
OACES will use this increased funding to expand its culinary and electrical training opportunities. Thirty-five additional people will be able to enroll in these programs and OACES will now include employment retention services for up to 90 days.
“Providing transformational workforce development opportunities is crucial to KeyBank’s mission of helping the communities we serve thrive,” KeyBank Rochester Market President James Barger said. “We proudly support OACES and the good work they do getting people on paths out of poverty and to productivity.”
OACES provides job training programs for adults residing in Rochester who oftentimes are unemployed and live in poverty. The additional funds will also help OACES assist graduates of the program in finding employment and navigating the workforce.
“We are grateful to KeyBank for this donation in support of its training programs. OACES serves thousands of adult residents in the City of Rochester, who often are unemployed and potentially living in poverty,” Director of OACES Paul Burke said. “Together, we can create an employed, educated, active, and healthy Rochester Community.”
