Irondequoit Police have released new details in the case of a police presence of Hudson Avenue on Tuesday night.

Police say that around 7:30 p.m., they responded to a residential address in the 1900 block of Hudson Avenue for the report of a fight with a weapon used.

Due to the nature of the call and information received, police say a perimeter was set up and the 911 emergency notification system was activated to request residents to shelter in place until the area was secured.

During the preliminary investigation it was learned that a domestic incident had occurred and that the suspect used and was armed with what appeared to be a weapon.

At the time, the suspect location was unknown and he was believed to be in the area. The nearby areas were secured and searched but a suspect was not located at the time.

Based upon the information learned from victims and witnesses, investigators say this was an isolated event that was brought on by a family dispute.

The Irondequoit Police Department is looking to speak to Willie J. Wofford Jr., 18, (pictured above) in regards to the incident.

This matter involved a multijurisdictional response that included the Irondequoit Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester City Police Department, New York State Police, and the Webster Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to call 911.
