IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — Officials from the Irondequoit Police Department announced Wednesday that human remains discovered by a civilian Monday at Durand Lake have been identified as Lisa Shuler.
Shuler was the victim in a suspicious death investigation last week on Culver Road. Last week 37-year-old Shuler was found dead and in a “state of dismemberment” outside a home on Culver Road.
Police say Seth Larson continues to be a person of interest.
“We need help in locating Seth Larson,” Irondequoit Police Chief Alan Laird said Tuesday. “We need this story to get out across the eastern seaboard, and the country. I’m pleading for help from the media to get this story out of this area and across the country.”
Police say Larson is 40-years-old, 5’9″ with tattoos on both forearms and either short, brown hair or a shaved head.

“The picture that was provided with the media does show him with a goatee, but I do remind the public that can be changed, so be aware of that,” Laird said last week.
Police say Larson drives a 2011 blue Nissan Juke with the New York license plate FTP6756.
“The front plate is completely peeled off and the rear plate is partially peeled off,” Laird said last week.
The police chief said Larson has since left the area, and his last known whereabouts was in Maryland last week. Laird said Tuesday that he had no update on where Larson could be.
Irondequoit police released new photos Wednesday of Larson and his vehicle from May 24, 2021 in the Rochester area:

Police say they responded to the 4300 block of Culver Road around 5 p.m. last Tuesday for a welfare check, requested by a family friend who had not heard from the victim in a few days.
Once on scene, officers found Shuler dead outside the residence. Police say Shuler and Larson have known each other for about 10 years and that Larson had a DWI arrest several years ago.
The police are asking for anyone with information about this case, or Larson’s whereabouts, to contact them.
“If they wish to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers,” Laird said. “Call IPD at 585-336-6000, extension 2200, call 911 or anonymous at Crime Stoppers at 585-423-9300 or roccrimestoppers.com.”
Irondequoit police are scheduled to hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to provide further information to the public in this case.
