Ms. Wiederhold’s 5th grade class at Longridge Elementary in Greece won’t be asking for candy for Halloween. They’ll be trick-or-treating to raise money for UNICEF.
“I really think everybody in here likes helping people and raising money for people,” says student Dominic Bruno.
After learning about UNICEF more extensively, the students set a goal of raising $100 in change to be used to help students just like them, around the world.
“I thought it was awesome that they took that upon themselves and did it,” says teacher Taylor Wiederhold. “So it made me really proud that they want to help students who they don’t even know rather than just getting candy.”
A third grade class at the school will also be trick-or-treating for UNICEF. The entire group of kids say they’re raising change to make a change.
