Local News

Hundreds saluted veterans arriving at the Greater Rochester International Airport on Sunday.

Honor Flight Rochester celebrated its tenth year flying veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials built in their honor.

Veterans on the flight served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, World War II, and other eras.

Sunday’s flight featured Army Veteran Katharine Davidson and Navy Veteran Dick Davidson. The couple has been married for more than 60 years and they took the flight together.

“I can’t get over this hoopla for us,” said Katharine, “It’s bringing tears to my eyes as you can see.”

Honor Flight Rochester has escorted nearly 3,000 male and female veterans on 57 missions.
