Kevin Wilkins was digging out Tuesday night, after his home in Lodi was hit by flooding.
“When I came out this morning, the whole area was covered.” Wilkins said the flooding left him unable to get out of his driveway. “You couldn’t even pass through the road,” he said.
Wilkins was one of many, as massive flooding hit the area starting Tuesday morning.
The Red Cross in Ovid said by the afternoon, they had helped 50-60 people. The Red Cross said they plan on being open until residents no longer need assistance.
Neighbors, like Caela Sheley, also pitched in to help. “We’re just dropping stuff off,” she said outside the Red Cross station in Ovid. “We collected donations at Austin Physical Therapy in Waterloo. We collected towels, Gatorade and a few other things from local people,” she said.
