Holden Street, Lydia Street reopened after police standoff

CHARLOTTE, N.Y. (WROC) – The Rochester Police Department shut down Holden Street and Lydia Street Saturday as a precaution while instructing a man to exit a residence in the area of of the 100 block of Holden.

Police say they responded to a check the welfare call around 10 a.m. When they arrived they learned that a male who refused to leave the home may be in possession of weapons. Out of an abundance of caution, officers closed the street and surrounding area.

The FIT team was requested and responded to the scene.

The situation was resolved just before 8 p.m. and the man was taken to the hospital for observation.
