Seniors at the Integrated Arts and Technology High School got to hear some life lessons from some power women on Wednesday.
Three speakers, Tanishia Johnson, Nicole Vangorder Pratt, and Rachel Barnhart were all part of a forum where students could ask questions.
The event was part of their capstone project, which focuses on “Being the Change.”
Tanishia Johnson, Pathways for Success Program Director, spoke about how women can do whatever they are passionate about.
“Once you start there, asking our young women and our young students what they’re interested in and helping them carve out a plan beyond high school, I think that will be a good start,” she said.
The event was created by Dyani Dove, a straight A student who is set to attend the University of Buffalo next year.
She hoped it would inspire her fellow classmates and build their confidence, just before they graduate.
