Moms and Dads can get great information this coming Saturday, November 10 at the second Toddlers & Tykes at the DoubleTree Rochester on Jefferson Road in Henrietta from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Jenna Page, the Marketing Specialist for Toddlers & Tykes, discussed many of the great things parents can avail themselves to at the event Thursday morning during News 8 at Sunrise.
“We have all sorts of new organizations joining us this year,” said Page. “We’re really excited to partner with the YMCA, we have AutismUP, we have Irene McKenna Coaching – she’s a peaceful parenting coach in the area – and she’s coming to give us a master class, and some of our returning friends – Parenting Village, Macaroni Kid, Mix 100.5, Soccer Shots, etcetera – but we’re really excited this year because in addition to all of the fun that we bring to these events, like partnering with the Toy Library for some of these low key activities for our kids that come to the event, is some of the more serious and helpful things for parenting too. So we’ll have a CPR demo on site for parents learning childhood CPR, and we’ll also have child car seat safety demonstrations to show us what are the new guidelines, how long should we keep our kids rear facing, when should we be changing seats and how that works, so we’re really excited to bring all of that together under one roof again.”
Monica Infante started Babies & Bumps six years ago and then transitioned to Toddlers & Tykes, with a wheelhouse age range of 2-to-6. “We started seeing some of the same parents year after year at Babies & Bumps and then as their kids were aging out of the 0-to-2, their questions weren’t stopping,” explained Page. “They were just changing, and they wanted to know more about potty training and how to deal with picky eaters, keeping their kids healthy during the winter season and so we wanted to bring all of that as the kids were growing and provide more resources for those parents.”
