Heavy police presence on Edmonds Street after reported robbery

UPDATE 11 p.m.:

Rochester Police Officers say that around 7 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the area of Edmonds Street and Monroe Avenue for the report of a robbery by gunpoint.

Police say they located two victims, and during the investigation, learned the suspect may have entered a house on Edmonds Street.

Police secured Edmonds Street and parking lots in the immediate area as a precaution. They then called people inside the house out of their home.

After further investigation, police determined no suspects were in the house, and around 10:30 p.m. the area was opened back up.

At this time, there are no suspects in custody.


There is a heavy police presence on Edmonds Street, where Rochester Police Officers have a house surrounded. 

Officers on scene have their rifles drawn, and are using a megaphone to urge people inside the house to come out. So far, at least one person has come out of the house with their hands in the air.

A K9 unit also responded to the scene.
