National Engineers Week continues with special events being held at Harris Corp.
In Rochester and across the country, engineers at the technology company and defense contractor will participate in more than 80 events focused on innovation and engineering.
Harris is taking this week to celebrate the many achievements of the company’s 8,000 engineers and scientists and give them the opportunity to use their skills outside of the office including the “bridge breaking challenge.”
“It’s a neat opportunity to do some team building and to use skills we use on a daily basis,” said Erin Schiele, Harris. “Most of the people here probably have a mechanical engineering degree and they’re getting to use that degree on doing non-space based missions.”
Harris is holding more than 80 events for employees across the country this week. The company supports government and commercial contracts in more than 100 countries.
