A Hamlin man was arrested following a hit-and-run in the Town of Murray that seriously injured a 14-year-old girl, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says Cody Buzard, 23, did not stop after he hit the girl while driving a pickup truck on Monroe-Orleans County Line Road at 8:30 pm on Friday.
It says Buzard returned to the scene and turned himself in one hour later.
The sheriff’s office says Buzard failed field sobriety tests and has been charged with a DWAI among other charges.
He was arraigned in the Town of Murray Court and bail was set at $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond.
The girl had been taken to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight where she was treated for a broken femur, shattered pelvis and a cut to her spleen.
The sheriff’s office says the girl will not be able to walk again for 3 months.
