The Block Party on East brought together more that 700 people to Asbury First United Methodist Church Thursday night to break the world record of most people playing hopscotch at one time. The original Guinness World Record was 650 people.

Stephen Cady, Senior Minister states, “We were trying to figure out as a church what could we do to bring people together and this was an idea someone sat around the table and said what about hopscotch and we thought do we even remember how to play hopscotch?”

In addition to breaking the world record the block party included food trucks and entertainment for the whole family.
