Greece residents started lining Long Pond Road around 11 a.m. Monday for the town’s Memorial Day parade.
Marching bands, Boys and Girls Scouts Troops, the Patriot Guard Riders and of course, a lot red, white, and blue filled the route.
Rob Vetromile, who has served 22 years in the Navy, spoke with News 8’s Wakisha Bailey at the parade.
“Memorial Day is a time to remember all of those who have served our country, and the ones who did not come home — those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms,” said Vetromile.
Following the parade is a remembrance ceremony at the Town Hall in Greece.
