GREECE, NY (WROC) — A driver has been charged with drunk driving after a police chase in Greece ended with a vehicle smashing into an auto garage on West Ridge Road.

Twenty-one-year-old Jahking B. Bath, of Greece, is charged with DWI, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and reckless driving, along with other traffic offenses.

Bath was treated at the hospital following the crash early Sunday morning. Police say he was one of two drivers that officers spotted going through a red light on West Ridge Road near Glenora Drive. When officers tried to pull over the vehicles, they say Bath took off.

Officers chased after Bath who later lost control of his vehicle after going over train tracks near Bonesteel Street. Greece police say Bath’s vehicle went over the median, hit a sign, hit a telephone pole before colliding with an auto repair shop. The shop sustained damage to the corner of its building.

Bath was issued appearance tickets in the case.
